Kendall smoke shop owners arrested for alleged synthetic-marijuana possession

After conducting a search warrant at Kendall business Wood Pipes Smoke Shoppe and Speakeasy, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department arrested owners Tammy J. Wood, 34, and Brian G. Wood, 38, late Wednesday afternoon.

According to a press release prepared by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, the couple was arrested amid allegations of possessing synthetic marijuana, a restricted controlled substance. The sheriff’s department and the Kendall Police Department served the search warrant on the business, where drug-related items were seized, including materials that police believe are synthetic marijuana.

Both will have first court appearance at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30. Wood Pipes Smoke Shoppe and Speakeasy is at 112 S. Railroad St.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the matter.
