The finishing touches have been put on the new La Farge Medical Clinic building, where providers began seeing patients June 29.
Vernon Memorial Healthcare kicked off the day with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new building, which is at 206 N. Mill St. in La Farge. The La Farge Medical Clinic staff celebrated the occasion alongside other VMH employees, members of the VMH Board of Directors, community members, as well as Sen. Jennifer Shilling and Rep. Lee Nerison.
The new building fills a big need in Vernon County, according to VMH administrators.
“For many folks, getting to Viroqua can be a trip, much less getting to La Crosse. It’s so important to have good quality care right here in La Farge,” said Kyle Bakkum, chief executive officer of Vernon Memorial Healthcare. “La Farge is a really special community. Working together with the La Farge Medical Clinic and VMH, we’re going to do wonderful things here.”
Dan Nelson, assistant administrator of clinic operations, said, “We have this beautiful, new facility with modern medical technology. We have 11 exam rooms rather than six, two birthing rooms instead of one, and we even have room to grow in the future, which will help us serve the community for decades to come.
All La Farge Clinic patients will now be seen in the new facility.
