June is here. The trees have all leaved out, and the flowers have given us a pretty array of colors. The asparagus is very tasty, along with the morel mushrooms. Just think: Thirty more days and the year will be half over.
Don’t forget to honor all of the fathers Sunday, June 21. Do something extra special for them. We will have a Father’s Day Special on Friday, June 19, of brats, potato salad, baked beans and all of the extras to go with it. Call462-5175 to reserve a meal.
Representatives will be at the Elroy meal site on from 10–11 a.m. Friday, June 5, to accept applications for farmers-market vouchers. Please bring your driver’s license and your monthly income.
Attention all seniors: A senior bowling league (60 and older) meets at Mauston Bowl at 1 p.m. every Thursday. Come at about 12:30 p.m. so that you are ready to bowl at 1 p.m. The cost is $7 for three games. It is just for fun, exercise and enjoyment and is all year long. The senior bus leaves from Elroy the second Friday of June. Call the Aging and Disability Resource Center Office in Mauston at 847-9371 for more information and to reserve a seat.
The Elroy Methodist Church has its sharing supper the last Wednesday of the month. The meal is always delicious.
Bingo is played at the Elroy meal site at 11 a.m. every day that we are open. If you need a ride to the meal site, call us, and we will arrange for you to be picked up and taken back home after the meal.
The Elroy senior nutrition program invites all seniors age 60 and older to participate in the senior dining program. Meals are served at 11:45 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Home-delivered meals are available with a doctor’s order. Call the Elroy Meal Site at 462-5175 with any questions. The suggested donation is $3.75. Join your friends for a warm meal, friendship and fun.
