The Kendall Public Library’s next book club meeting will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, at the library. We will discuss “Killing Lincoln” by Bill O’Reilly. Peter J. Boyer of Newsweek concludes, “If John Grisham wrote a novel about April 1865 … it might well read like ‘Killing Lincoln.’”

Our last movie night until fall will be Friday night, May 29, at St. John’s Fellowship Hall. We will show the classic 1962 movie “To Kill a Mockingbird” at 6:30 p.m. Starring Gregory Peck, this movie is often considered one of the greatest films ever made. As always, there is no charge. Pop and popcorn will be available, and everyone is welcome.

The Winding Rivers Library System has expanded access to unique history materials in local libraries by developing a regional online collection of visual images (photographs and postcards) representing western Wisconsin history and culture. This project and collection is named ECHO (Exploring Cultural History Online) and is made possible through a 2014 Library Services and Technology Act grant.
This collection is available now: Go to http://www.wrlsweb.org and click on ECHO. We will have an open house to highlight pictures featuring the local area (those pictures are now online for everyone to access). The open house date has not yet been set — watch for details.
