Vernon County I&E Club to offer course on Kickstarter

Contributed by the Vernon County I&E Club

Will Kickstarter work for your business or idea? What are the critical steps to a successful campaign, and how do you get started?

At the next Inventors and Entrepreneurs Club meeting on Wednesday, April 8, Dennis Glover will present “A Kickstarter Crash Course: Everything You Need to Know About Running a Successful Crowd-Funding Campaign.”

He will take you step-by-step through the entire process of setting up andmanaging a Kickstarter campaign, sharing all the best tips and tricks in between.

Dennis Glover graduated from Westby High School in 1997 and holds a business degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has spent five of the last 10 years building a youth entrepreneurship program in Sierra Leone, West Africa.

Last year he returned home to join his parents, Ted and Marie Glover, in their family business, K-Kat Innovative Pet Products. His first major project with K-Kat was to run a Kickstarter campaign for their metal cat litter scoop, raising $37,700 in one month with pre-orders for more than 3,300 scoops. Dennis sees crowd-funding as a highly effective way to bring money into local businesses and launch products and brands globally.

The meeting will be at the Food Enterprise Center, 1201 N. Main St., in Viroqua. Networking will start at 5:30 p.m.; the program will begin at 6 pm.

The I&E club is organized jointly by the Crawford County Economic Development Corporation, Vernon Economic Development Association and Viroqua Chamber Main Street.

The meetings are free, and no reservations are required.  Whether you have an idea or just like to think business, join in for a dynamic evening of networking with lots of creative people. Everyone is welcome.
