I saw your article in the March 19 paper about the permit application Mathy has put in to go forward with a quarry that could turn into a frac sand mine down the line, and will definitely upset the natural setting for the bike path in that area.
I am a concerned citizen residing in Madison and part of Madison Action for Mining Alternatives and just wanted to voice my opposition to the permitting of any quarry or mining activity in this beautiful region of our state of Wisconsin.
I urge the Wilton Town Board to do the right thing and deny approval of Mathy’s revised permit application.
There is too much at stake. Already too many frac sands mines have been permitted and are operating in Wisconsin, and we need to put on the brakes.
