Helping lead Royall to a 45–43 win over New Lisbon, Seth Brown scored 19 on Jan. 8, when conference play resumed following the holiday break.
Brown was 7–15 inside the arc and 0–2 from outside as the Panthers won their ninth straight regular-season meeting with the Rockets. Brown also tallied 11 rebounds and seven steals in the win.
Jayden Enzenbacher added 8 points; and Dorian Keenan, 7. Josh Murray was second on the team in rebounds, racking up nine.
The win helps Royall improve to 3–5 on the season. The Panthers will host Cashton on Friday night before traveling to Mauston for a nonconference contest Monday.
De Soto 39, Brookwood 30
The nonconference game between De Soto and Brookwood was postponed a day due to weather and resulted in a win for the host Pirates.
After the first eight minutes, Brookwood led 9–6, but the offense went cold until the fourth quarter, when the Falcons scored 14 points. De Soto didn’t fare much better, but a 9–2 run in the second frame and 17-point surge in the final quarter helped set up the win.
De Soto’s Jeff Alton paced all scorers with 17. Brookwood’s offense was limited to just three scorers: Jack Hansen with 12; Matthew Hansen, 9; and Dylan Smith, 9.
Bangor 73, Brookwood 38
The Brookwood boys basketball team fell to 0–8 after a hot Bangor team passed through town Jan. 8.
The visiting Cardinals led 44–18 at halftime and outscored the Falcons 23–9 in the third quarter to put the game out of reach for good.
For Bangor, Canon O’Heron dropped 28 points in the win, and teammate Jack Reader added 16. Jack Hansen chimed in for 17 in the Falcons’ loss, and Dylan Smith added 11.
Brookwood is in the middle of a three-game road trip. The Falcons traveled to Hillsboro on Tuesday and will head to Necedah on Friday before going to La Farge on Monday night.
