Jesse Mannise, 25, of Norwalk was arrested Sept. 12 on charges of domestic violence-related threats after an incident late Sept. 11, according to Monroe County Sheriff’s Department.
Police were dispatched to a Norwalk residence at about 11:30 p.m. after a woman became afraid of Mannise. The woman told police she had been at Mannise’s residence, and Mannise became upset with her. The woman said she left the room, and when she returned, Mannise was handling a revolver.
According to the report, the woman told police she became scared because Mannise had previously threatened her and her family, and she left the residence and went home. Mannise is accused of following the woman home and arguing with the woman’s father.
Witnesses say Mannise had threatened to kill the woman and her family in August. Mannise is further accused of attacking the woman Aug. 8.
Officers then went to Mannise’s residence to speak with him about the allegations. He denied any wrongdoing, and then exited the residence and was taken into custody.
According to the report, after Mannise was placed in handcuffs, Reba Mannise, 54, and Jaimie L. Mannise, 18, both of Norwalk, allegedly rushed toward police and attempting to disrupt the arrest.
Charges of obstructing an officer against Reba Mannise and Jaimie Mannise have been referred to the district attorney.
