The Wisconsin Association of FFA recently celebrated 85 years of premier leadership, personal growth and career success at the Wisconsin FFA Convention in Madison.
The convention attracted nearly 3,500 members, advisers, parents, alumni and sponsors.
“The Wisconsin FFA Convention is our opportunity to recognize the importance of the education of our society about agriculture and the achievements of young people who are the future leaders of the agriculture industry,” said Gary Von Ruden, Brookwood’s FFA adviser.
Students were able to attend a career show as well as workshops relative to leadership and personal growth. Jennifer Rynes was a member of the State FFA band, and Ryan Menn and Addison Arndt represented the Brookwood chapter as voting delegates at the state level. A highlight of the convention was that three Brookwood FFA members received the highest degree that can be bestowed on members at the state level, the State FFA Degree: Sam Radke, Walker Rynes and Collin Birkholz.
The Wisconsin Association of FFA is a leading student organization due to the efforts of more than 19,000 students across the state. With a focus on premier leadership, personal growth and career success, students’ FFA activities complement agricultural classroom instruction by giving them an opportunity to apply their skills and knowledge while gaining real-world experience.
