The newest addition to the Palen Park renovation project in Ontario is this 75-gallon cast-iron pot. You never know what you might find at Trails End, a rural Ontario business affectionately known as the Amish Wal-Mart. For decades, the pot belonged to Trails End owner Atlee Yoder, who says it was used for heating water for baths and clothes washing. In its retirement years, it will hold flowers planted by Butch Pearson of Ontario, pictured here. The stand was designed and fabricated by Travis Thieman of String Swing, a rural Ontario-based manufacturer of musical instrument displays. Bryan Havlik of Ontario cemented it in.
