A Hillsboro man sustained non-life-threatening injuries Tuesday evening after he struck a deer with his motorcycle, according to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Department.

Joshua R. Quario, 24, was northbound on Briskey Road, about one-fourth mile of Highway 33, in the town of Hillsboro, when he hit the deer. His motorcycle then skidded on the roadway.

Quario was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hillsboro.

Quario was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, but he was wearing safety glasses.

The Hillsboro Ambulance, the Hillsboro Fire Department and the Hillsboro Police Department assisted the sheriff’s department, which is investigating the accident.
