Though the Brookwood baseball team continued to struggle at the plate last week, it managed a win as it hosted Wonewoc-Center in a Scenic Bluffs Conference game.

Brookwood put up a single run in the first and clung to it for most of the game. It wasn’t until the sixth inning that the Falcons were able to separate from the Wolves with a 5-run effort.

Defensively, the Falcons, led by Jack Hansen on the mound, held Wonewoc-Center at bay all afternoon. Hansen stopped the Wolves in order four times and allowed just one runner to reach third.

As a team, Brookwood collected just 4 hits to Wonewoc-Center’s 3.

The Falcons will travel to league-leading New Lisbon on Thursday before hosting Necedah on Monday.
