It’s time to welcome spring by closing out our Hot Reads for Cold Nights promotion.
It is not too late to collect your prizes. We will enter everyone who participated into a drawing for a free tote bag. All you need to participate is one review! It’s not too late to win. Our drawing will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 23.

The library received a donation in memory of Mary (Rice) Miller by Bob and Alice Brandau. This is a lovely way to remember a person with an old Wilton connection. Thank you.

Our classic-novels book group will meet Thursday, April 24, to discuss Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s “The Hound of the Baskervilles.” We will meet in May to talk about “Fahrenheit 451” by Ray Bradbury. This most famous of all dystopian novels, it was written in 1953 and presents a “future” America where books are outlawed. Let’s get together and talk about why this book is important. Copies are available at the circulation desk.

Save the date! Kevin and Patsy Alderson will join the Wilton Writer’s Workshop to talk about their book, “Letters Home to Sarah: The Civil War Letters of Guy C. Taylor, Thirty-Sixth Wisconsin Volunteers,” at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 6. What was it like working with these historical documents? How difficult is it to work with a big-name publisher?
They are also the co-authors of “Barns Without Corners: Round Barns of Vernon County, Wisconsin.” Do you begin with the text or illustrations? Is it difficult to get your neighbors excited about your project? Bring your own questions. Everyone is invited to attend.

Our playgroup will celebrate Easter on Wednesday, April 16, and Norwalk-Ontario-Wilton Elementary School teacher Kathy Johnson’s 4-year-old-kindergarten class will join us Wednesday, April 23. We will have no scheduled playgroup on Wednesday, April 30, but children are ALWAYS welcome at the library.
