The Royall Elementary and Intermediate Schools, along with local community partners, organizations and businesses, will host their third annual health and wellness day Friday, April 11.
As part of this event, students and staff will learn to Zumba dance, practice yoga, pursue outdoor adventures, find treasures with geocaching and learn how plants grow while gardening.
“This is a great way to showcase the many different ways we can stay healthy and active,” said Royall Principal Darcy Uppena. “With the help of the PEP Grant (Carol M. White Physical Education Program federal grant), we have worked hard to create a healthier school environment for our students. This day helps us to showcase our efforts.”
Local businesses, organizations and clubs provide help and collaboration for the event.
“We are excited to welcome back several of our presenters, such as the Hill and Dale Garden Club and Upham Woods,” said PEP Grant Coordinator Ruth Witt. “All of our presenters work hard to develop and provide quality programs, and our students continue to reap the benefits.”
