Future of joint police department remains uncertain

Anyone expecting a resolution to the ongoing tug-of-war between the Wilton and Norwalk village boards over the future of the joint police commission would be disappointed at the results of Tuesday night’s Wilton Village Board meeting.

Although dissolving the police commission was an item on the agenda, the board never took a vote on the matter, instead opting to defer the matter to a joint meeting between the two boards at a date yet to be decided.

Instead, the discussion turned into a sparring match between Wilton board president George Dougherty, who clearly favored dissolving the commission, and trustee Tim Welch, who held an opposing view.

    Royall, N-O-W meet state accountability expectations

    N-O-W budget deficit less than projected
