David B. Likely, 71, of Norwalk, formerly of Tomah, died of cancer Thursday afternoon, July 3, at home, surrounded by his family.

He was born Oct. 17, 1942, to Harry and Gertrude (Dams) Likely in Tomah. David was united in marriage Sept. 5, 1982, to Vanessa (Fantasia) Likely. David graduated from Tomah High School in 1960. He spent nine years proudly serving his country in the United States Navy. He went on to work for the Department of Defense in Virginia Beach, Va. He retired in 1997 as director of maintenance for Oceana Naval Air Station and Dam Neck Training Center.

    Verne Dale Arndt, 81, of Hustler, Wis., passed away suddenly Saturday June 28, 2014.

    Verne was born Oct. 12, 1932, on the family farm in the town of Wellington, Monroe County, Wis., to Hugo and Clara (Radke) Arndt. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilton. He was a 1950 graduate of Wilton High School. Verne served in the United States Air Force from 1952-1956.     James L. Curtis, 91, died at his daughter’s home on the morning of Monday, June 23, 2014.

    He was born in Viroqua, Wis., on Oct. 26, 1922, the son of the late Carl Curtis and Ora Abbott Curtis. James was raised by his maternal grandparents, Leroy and Althea (Sewell) Abbott, in Wilton, Wis.     Frederick “Fritz” Luethe, 87, of Norwalk passed away Friday, May 16, 2014, at the Morrow Memorial Home in Sparta.
