Myrtle Dritlein, 97, of Ontario passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at the Morrow Memorial Home in Sparta.
Myrtle was born in Chicago on Aug. 25, 1915, to William and Ebba (Zebitz) Brettner. She married Edward Dritlein. Myrtle worked as a cook at high school. She knew her way around the kitchen, and many will miss her special treats she would make.
Myrtle is survived by her children, Ronald (Julie) Dritlein of Ontario; her grandchildren, Ronald Jr. and Kevin (Linda) Dritlein; five great-grandchildren, Ronald III, Courtney, Meagan, Daniel and Julia; a brother, Robert Brettner; three sisters, Lorraine (Bud) Follansbee, Evelyn Applequist, and Eleanor Workman; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Russell John Helgren, 89, of Norwalk died March 19, 2013, at his home.
He was born to Rudolph and Valerie (Galipeau) Helgren on Nov. 28, 1923, in Iron River, Mich. He was united in marriage on May 17, 1947, to Doris Hagen in Milwaukee. LaVern Harold Haldeman, 80, of Wilton and Ontario passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, with his loving family by his side. He has now gone home to be with his Lord.

Marden “Marty” West, 88, of Waupun, Wis., died Tuesday evening, March 19, 2013, at Waupun Memorial Hospital.
The son of William and Ruth Marden West, Marden was born Sept. 8, 1924, in Ontario. Marden grew up in Ontario and graduated from Ontario High School in 1942. He was in both theaters of World War II and came behind General Patton in the chemical infantry division. On Feb. 9, 1946 Marden married his grade school sweetheart, Verna Molley, in La Crosse. The

James W. Meckstroth, 84, of Elroy passed away Friday, March 15, 2013, at Tomah Memorial Hospital.
He was born June 3, 1928, to Dr. Emil and Mary (West) Meckstroth in Dayton, Ohio. He grew to adulthood in Sandusky, Ohio, where he was a multi-sport high school athlete and elected to the Sandusky High School Hall of Fame. He later graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in animal husbandry.

Leo Schultz, 89, of Sparta passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013, at the Rolling Hills Nursing Home in Sparta.
Leo was born Nov. 16, 1923, to William and Ethel (Kroll) Schultz. On Sept. 23, 1947, he married Catherine Semann at St. John’s Catholic Church on Summit Ridge. Their marriage was blessed with five children.

Patricia Mae Learman, 84, of Norwalk, formerly of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Morrow Memorial Home, surrounded by her family.
She was born to Edward H. Warner and Hazel I. (Head) Warner on July 25, 1928, in Norfolk, Neb.
Her family moved to Dubuque, Iowa, when she was 3 years old. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School and continued her education at Bayless Business College.
Harley M. Chambers, 90, of Wilton died Sunday, March 10, 2013, at the Morrow Memorial Home, Sparta.
He was born Aug. 23, 1922, to William and Sarah (Beaver) Chambers in Cashton. He was a graduate of the Wilton High School. Harley proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, serving during World War II.
